Change Is Upon Us
If you click on PMC above, you'll be taken to my Pan-Mass Challenge site, where you'll learn about the 200-mile bike ride I'll be doing in August for cancer awareness and research - and what you can do to help.
Wait. I'm bicycling 200 miles?!
All right. Who talked me into this?
I don't even own a bike! (Yet.)
Clearly I'll have to put more thought into this. :-)
Posted by pasco at March 2, 2006 10:57 PMPat, you probably already know folks who do the PMC, but if you want another contact, one of my long-time buddies from college has been riding since about '82. I can connect you with her if you're interested re training questions, etc.; she's in Falls Church, Va. now. (Hi Jean!!)
Posted by: Patricia Smith at March 7, 2006 11:41 AMHi Pat,
I can tell you that Rod and I and Dan did a ride half as long in St. Louis *many* years ago now. You should get ready for a sore butt. I am delighted to hear that you're taking this on and you should definitely count on us for a contribution.
I've read all around the site so I see Jean is back from the hospital (Yay!) for a few days of respite before the auto-transplant. I'll be thinking of you both this week and sending some good thoughts your way, (in so far as it is possible to *send* thoughts...) Jean's postings are keeping me optimistic.
Also, by the by, we are making a trip to Boston late April (19th-20th) and would love to see you both.
And most importantly, have a happy birthday!

Pat - my mother and Jean's mother are cousins which I guess makes she and I 2nd cousins. Jose Halpin gave me your URL. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. I live in Milton so I am not far - if there is ever anything I can do, please do not hesitate to ask.
I know a few who have done/do yearly the PMC. It is quite an undertaking. I will be happy to contribute.
Gabrielle
